Breath of Fresh Flair is something I stumbled upon by accident.  About seven years ago, my parents were selling their home.  They lived in a small town in Nebraska and their home had been on the market for a few months.  Their realtor told them in order to make their home more appealing they should consider "decluttering" it and removing some of their personal effects.  I was visiting them at the time and agreed to help out.

I maneuvered furniture around, hung pictures, arranged accessories and had the best time!  When I returned home to New York, I thought, "Surely, there must be a name for this type of job."  Well, I found out there is.  It's called Staging.  Shortly after I staged my parents' home, they had an offer on their house.  The most exciting part was not only did the buyers want the house, but they wanted the furniture and accessories as well.  Wow!  How exciting was that!  Since that time I have helped numerous friends and family members with their decorating challenges.

I also found a husband and wife team in Napa Valley, California who trained me in redesign and staging.  I am fortunate to have a natural talent for decorating, but they helped me hone my skills.  Along with what I learned from them, I have a degree in psychology.  That helps me listen, provide solutions, and act as a mediator, if necessary!  I've also worked in the insurance industry for almost 19 years (I started when I was 5!!)  During my years in insurance I've helped homeowners who've had devastating damage to their homes due to hurricanes, earthquakes, fires and floods.  I've gotten to work with many different personality types and I have extensive knowledge of construction techniques and building materials.

I'm currently a member of Interior Redesign Industry Specialists (IRIS) and continue my interior design training through classes at Johnson County Community College.

So, enough about me, what about you?  I'd love to get to know you and breath new life into your old style!
